I've owned this mouse for some time and have been generally quite satisfied with it. It's very portable and sturdy. The pads on the bottom do tend to come off over time, though, and the cord sometimes doesn't retract well. It's a great option for its price, however, and I recommend it for students in particular.

Good mouse. Does what a mouse should. Not sure how long the retractable cord will last, but other than that a solid product.

When people see it for the first time I've heard "That's the smallest mouse I've ever seen!" but it hasn't bothered me. I don't travel with my laptop (it lives in my office), but for daily office use I can speak to its durability. As others say, the tracking problems are non-existant with a mouse pad; my only difficulties have been when trying to use it on something shiny or uneven (like paper with a crease). It plugs into my Windows XP laptop or the office Mac without blinking. Its being retractable is by far its best feature: I will never go back to a long tangled cord again.

I've been using this mouse for a few years now, and I won't use a laptop without it. If you are a person who can't stand laptop touchpads but isn't an intuitive keyboard user, this is the mouse for you. Once I got used to the small size, I realized I preferred it immensely over a bigger mouse. I often get, "Wow, what a cute little mouse!" comments, but it's not just cute, it's reliable and tough. I've taken it on trips, dropped it a thousand times, had it jammed in the bottom of bags with a heavy laptop on top of it, and it survives.

The retractable cord is not perfect. It likes to get twisted up, but it's lasted literally years under daily use. And the finish on the thumb-side of the mouse has slowly worn away until I can look into the mouse's inner workings. It's no longer as pretty, but it still works.

And this is important. This is the first mouse I've had that has lasted longer than 2 years with my... um... brutal use (I tend to slam my mouse around, and drop it when I unplug and stash it, and... well, no other mouse has ever survived this long).

In any case, I plan to get another one. If the one I currently have ever finally dies, which may take awhile. It's still going strong.

if you don't mind that your mouse skips all over the page and you have to find the pointer, go for it.
